In the future it seems as if Wolverine is beginning to lose his powers and is becoming mortal, the X-Men have disbanded, it is a post apocalyptic world, and the right version of X-23 has officially arrived.
Logan looks like it is going to have an entirely different feel than any other X-Men or even Superhero Movie ever made to this date and I could not be happier about this. The story is based loosely on the Old Man Logan comic series and based on the now two trailers we have been graced with it seems like they got the darkness and grit of that series down to a T. If you haven't checked out that series I would highly recommend it although it isn't like most comics and it is interesting to see where the Wolverine/Logan arc finally comes to a conclusion.
In this trailer we get our first look at X-23's rage and the meta humor present in this film similar to in Deadpool. We see that there are X-Men comics in the X-Men Universe that are used like history books in comic form (wouldn't that just be the coolest thing ever? Maybe then I would have payed attention in History class!).
This trailer focused way more heavily on X-23 than on Logan like in the last movie and I think that that was a strong move showcasing the two characters in two different trailers giving each of them the screen time and the amping up that they both deserve (with some dying Professor X sprinkled in there as well for the nostalgic feels and reminding us that he will too have a part to play in this story.
Needless to say this Official Trailer #2 for Logan blew me away and I am ready to purchase tickets to see the film hit theaters on March 3rd. I think that this will be a great send off for Hugh Jackman from the X-Men franchise (but please just do one Deadpool movie Hugh!!!!) and it feels like we will be getting the closure for the character of Wolverine that he deserves. I cannot wait to see what they do with this film.
Sound off in the comment section below and let us know what you think about the new X-Men movie: Logan, and are you sad to be seeing Hugh Jackman leave the X-Men franchise?
